India Yamaha Motor (IYM) Pvt. Ltd. hosted the Mega Mileage Challenge in Mumbai for the FZ-S Fi Hybrid motorcycle. The initiative aimed to highlight the impressive fuel efficiency enabled by Yamaha’s Hybrid Technology, featuring the Smart Motor Generator (SMG) system, while educating customers on its real-world benefits. Organized in collaboration with authorized dealerships – Aditya Wheels, N J And Sons, Surya Motors, and Viaan Auto – the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Yamaha customers and their family members.
The Smart Motor Generator (SMG) and Stop & Start System (SSS) work together to optimize fuel efficiency while reducing emissions. These technologies ensure quieter starts, provide electric-assisted torque for smooth acceleration, and automatically shut off the engine during idling to conserve fuel. The result is a refined riding experience that delivers better mileage, improved performance, and a reduced environmental footprint—making it an ideal choice for riders seeking both efficiency and excitement.
The challenge featured a curated route of approximately 40 km, covering a mix of city roads, urban traffic, and open stretches. This allowed participants to experience the motorcycle across varied riding conditions, evaluating key aspects such as suspension, manoeuvrability, braking, acceleration, and initial pick-up. To ensure accurate mileage measurement, all motorcycles were refuelled to a consistent level before and after the ride, with fuel consumption carefully recorded.
Beyond the ride, Yamaha experts engaged with participants, sharing practical tips on riding techniques and maintenance practices to help maximize fuel efficiency. As a gesture of appreciation, each participant received exclusive souvenirs along with a complimentary bike wash. Yamaha further reinforced its commitment to customer satisfaction with a comprehensive 10-point inspection, ensuring optimal performance and safety for all motorcycles during the challenge.
