~ Join thousands of women at The GoFlo Run—where we champion menstrual health, promote fitness, and embrace the spirit of #HerRunHerRules to empower change together ~
Mumbai, October 10th, 2024: In a powerful stride towards breaking the stigma around women’s health and well-being, actress and fitness advocate Neha Dhupia, who serves as the Director of GoFlo is teaming up with visionary Anita Lobo, Director and brains behind this incredible initiative, to host the inaugural GoFlo Run on December 8, 2024, at MMRDA Grounds, BKC, Mumbai. This event is more than just a fitness initiative; it’s part of the larger #HerRunHerRules movement, dedicated to breaking barriers, sparking meaningful conversations, and driving lasting change for women across India.
Executed by Nova Saki Media Pvt. Ltd., this all-women’s run aims to bring together around 5,000 participants, promoting fitness, fostering community, and encouraging open dialogue around various issues women face, including menstrual health and other life experiences that are often silenced. Registration opens on September 30th, offering three categories: 10 km, 5 km, and 3 km, with the flexibility to run or walk. Starting from MMRDA Grounds in BKC, the route will wind through the vibrant streets of Mumbai, reflecting the city’s spirit of resilience and unity while rallying support for a crucial cause.
“Running has always given me a sense of freedom and connection with others, and that’s what we want to bring to the GoFlo Run.” says Neha Dhupia, Director of the GoFlo Run. “But this run is different. It’s not just about fitness; it’s about creating a space where we can talk openly about something so many women face in silence. Menstrual health is something so many of us have struggled to talk about openly. By coming together for this run, we’re not just challenging that stigma—we’re lifting each other up, creating a community where every woman feels seen, heard, and supported.”
“As women, it’s so important that we open up conversations about our health, especially when it comes to menstruation, a topic we often shy away from,” shares Anita Lobo, Director at GoFlo Run anda former national-level athlete who also advocates for empowering women through sports and fitness. “From my own experiences as an athlete, I’ve faced the mental and physical challenges that come with menstruation—those tough days filled with fatigue, discomfort, and emotional ups and downs. It was through overcoming these struggles that the idea for GoFlo Run was born. This isn’t just an event; it’s a community where we can support one another, break the silence around periods, and embrace our shared experiences. My deepest hope is that we can inspire real change and help every girl and woman feel empowered to thrive.”
This initiative embodies the spirit of #HerRunHerRules, aiming to create a supportive and inclusive community where women can push their limits and connect with like-minded individuals passionate about change and wellness. A portion of the registration fees will be donated to a partnered NGO, extending the event’s impact by funding initiatives that empower women and improve access to menstrual hygiene products and healthcare.
